Lifestyle Without Electricity

While getting used to new lifestyle without electricity, I have always liked to think that that the ongoing electric load shedding during sultry weather of Lahore is going to be disastrous for the sitting government. Load shedding may cause fall of the government in power. My rational is simple; when an ordinary people are pushed to wall with no respite in sight, the only way left with them is coming out on streets and make the rulers hear them or else to pack up. But Syed Mansoor Hussain - medical practitioner and teacher in US – has said this for me in his very erudite piece, “The Taliban are not coming, they have been here for a while and are running our electrical supply system. We should start getting used to life without electricity; this is just the beginning.”

Nave of me, I never knew that Taliban are running our electric supply system. Thanks to Syed Mansoor Hussain for pointing this out in an insightful perspective. I agree with what your say Syed Mansoor Hussain! Please don’t get used to it. If you do, Pakistan will join the list (The Ottoman Empire, the Safavids in Iran and, of course, the Mughals in India) sooner.
