Photographer Irtifa Nasir was a student at the University of Florida in Gainesville when she started showing her art on Flickr.
Now Irtifa is teaching. She has a knack and passion for photography. What is more, her plans are to pursue her passion for the ‘rest of her life’.
I have known as an able teacher, nice human and. Given my own interests in art of imagery, I was delighted to discover her as a talented photographer. Irtifa’s artistic vision is best conveyed through her photography; the goal being that the image speaks directly to the viewer, preferably without the use of language, written or spoken.
Although the methods and equipment have changed radically from my first experiences with black and white to the Canon digital SLR, the artistic skills are inherent, not tech dependent. The camera, printer, and website are merely tools of my art.
